Sommerville Bowline

Another single column tie, this is my favourite so far as it doesn’t slip, the knot is smaller than the Burlington bowline. It is a little more complex to explain but once you’ve got the hang of it then it is more simple to tie.

  • Three times around the wrist, or whatever you are tying.
  • Cross the biting and working end
  • Loop the working end around the bite
  • Pass the bite under wrist wraps and then through the loop created
  • Cinch tight and ensure you can still run a finger or two under the rope, all the way around the bottom’s/bunny’s/sub’s wrist
